Frankfurt to Berlin

Thursday we took the ICE train from Frankfurt to Berlin, but first we walked around Frankfurt a little bit more to see the sights (Europe=walking, I’m pretty sure Matt’s trying to kill me as we’ve been averaging about 10 miles a day).

We checked out the Frankfurt business district, pretty parks to walk through and shopping around the major towers.

The train from Frankfurt to Berlin was about 4 hours and actually pretty comfortable.  The main Berlin station is much bigger than Frankfurt, welcome to the big city!

This time we swallowed our pride and went to the info desk for directions to our hotel.  But, once off the train in the area of our hotel, it again took 1.5 GIS professionals about 30 minutes and a couple miles of walking to find out hotel.  Addresses here aren’t always logical.  We checked in and then went to dinner downtown by the water; after it being pretty warm in Frankfurt we were loving the weather, about 75 and breezy.

This was about 30 seconds before we realized there was a terrifying family of spiders above our heads. We planned on eating dinner here but we slammed our drinks and peaced out.

Yesterday we biked around Berlin to check out all the historical sites (Berlin Wall, Checkpoint Charlie), so more to come on that tomorrow!
