We started our second day in Berlin at a local farmer’s market. The surrounding little neighborhood was gorgeous.

Next we headed to the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. It’s pretty breathtaking. Underneath it is a great museum that chronicles specific people’s journeys through the holocaust. It’s designed to feel claustrophobic; hundreds of these cement blocks are arranged in rows at varying heights to create almost a maze. Here you can see the view from above thanks to the gopro, and a view looking out of it up at the sky.
Next we headed back to the Tiergarten because we just didn’t get enough of it the day before. We spent awhile just laying in the grass where I obsessively watched dogs playing in the park and cried inside thinking of ours back home. Then we went to a beer garden that is in the park and had dinner, and Matt noticed row boats which obviously he had to be a part of.

We also hit up the Brandeburg gate; reading the history reminded us of how much it’s been through and all the amazing historical events that occurred in this area.
After Berlin we headed to Dresden, more to come from there!
