And we’re off! From Berlin we headed to Prague. On the way we had to stop for gas and ended up doing it on the Czech side. To say we were at a loss for that transaction would be an understatement. First we had no idea how big our tank was, no idea what liters really are, and no idea how to ask for any of this once we figured it out. We were betting that the lone girl working the counter in the middle of the Czech countryside would speak no English or German. We were right. But amazingly it went pretty well, we filled up our tank (after about 20 minutes of us staring at each other not knowing what to do), and we were off to Prague!

So Prague is beautiful. Some of the prettiest cobblestone streets with amazing architecture and colors. But sadly, it is completely and immensely overran with tourists. It made us sad to be contributing to it. I’m sure there are outskirt areas that would have been less like this, but the streets look like Disneyland with ridiculous crowds of tourists. So overall, we were pretty unimpressed with Prague. I would have like to stay longer to see the less touristy areas, but only being there a couple nights and wanting a safe area, we were stuck in the tourist trap.
Right after we checked into the hotel we had to go park our car in a sketchy underground parking place, and give some crazy Russian guy the key. I almost had a panic attack but all worked out. But, after that, we got immensely lost due to leaving our map in the car. Thanks to my husbands amazing sense of direction (insert sarcastic voice), we spent about 2 hours and 5 miles circling the city to literally get down the block. Prague’s streets twist and turn quite a bit so just when you think you’re heading in one direction, you’re all turned around. You can see my look of utter annoyance below.

After we finally made it back to our hotel, we had a pretty great dinner that night. While touristy, the beers were cheap and the food was good.
The next day we walked around the city to see the sites and of course drink some more beer.

While walking around, Matt was being vague for something he was looking for, said there was an art wall or something. Since I usually follow him blindly, I didn’t question it even though I thought it was odd he was looking for anything to do with art ;). Then all of a sudden we stumbled on this, the John Lennon Wall. I guess he had seen it in his searches and knew I would need to be a part of it. Such a good husband.

Next, we headed up to the Prague castle. It sits at the top of a hill overlooking the city, and when I say top of the hill I mean we walked a mile uphill with my complaining the entire way. I mean we’ve been doing like 10 miles a day, but mostly flat. This was rough for me, but the view at the top was worth it, as much as I hate to admit to him.
Just as I was proud of myself for this accomplishment, my wonderful husband insisted that we climb up the tower of the castle. 287 steps. I know some of you may not think that’s much, but my gym membership is about a month old so that’s a lot for me.

I did it without dieing! Woot woot! The view of Prague from there was pretty spectacular. Thanks for making me do it baby!
The next morning we left for Munich- more tomorrow!

Amazing views!!! My feet would hate me!
Absolutely love the Lennon wall! Does it say “Vegan 5eva” next to where you’re standing?
