Greece. We decided to go to Corfu since the flights in and out of there were pretty cheap, and it ended up working out with the rest of our itinerary. The view from the plane had us pretty excited:
Corfu is definitely not the white and blue Santoriniesque buildings of Greece that you might think of (and thus much more affordable), but it is still pretty gorgeous. It immediately reminded us of Rocky Point; the towns on Corfu are mostly poverty stricken and in ruins, but the beaches are gorgeous and the tourist areas around them are nice. Since we didn’t have a car, we were limited to our beach and the restaurants on it, but we weren’t complaining. The beach is really all you want to do there anyway, so it was great spending 3 days just sunbathing and swimming. This was the view from our apartment:
The best part about our apartment was Corfu kitty that seemed to live on our patio. Obviously we bought him food first thing. He quickly fell in love with Matt (much to my dismay, grrr) and wouldn’t leave him alone.
There were also lots of cute kitties at the restaurants on the beach- this poor girl was very pregnant:
The water was so clear and beautiful. Most days we would hang out at the beach all morning; Matt would go exploring with his goggles and the gopro:
and I would read on the beach or float in the ocean while working on my tan. Rough life, I know. What is more relaxing then waves on a beach?

In the afternoon Matt would make us lunch with his amazing cooking skills; there was only a couple mini-marts within walking distance, and they had very limited supplies. Somehow, he managed to make us the most amazing pasta, one of the best things I’d had in Europe so far.
The colors in the sky at sunset were gorgeous each night. This was an awesome little restaurant on the beach that weirdly had the best hamburgers we’ve ever had:
More beautiful beach shots:
And the best view, my hot husband (I kept calling him my Arab prince with the white linen, uber tan and blangin’ chest hair, hubba hubba)
Corfu was like a vacation from our vacation, it was great to have 3 romantic days in paradise where we weren’t walking around sightseeing all day.
Next up is Rome, where we’ll have a guest blogger, the one and only Matt Russo! We’ll see how that goes!

Looks AMAZING!!!!
